About St. Marks Living
Our story began with a simple yet profound vision: to create a senior living community where comfort, care, and connection come together to enrich lives.
Our Commitment
At St. Mark’s Living, we believe that aging is a natural and dignified process that should be embraced as a meaningful chapter in life. Our community is founded on the principle that seniors can continue to thrive, grow, and contribute, as captured in the words of Psalm 92:14: “In old age, they still produce fruit. They are always green and full of sap.”
Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment where our residents can live with purpose, comfort, and joy, adapting to their needs while preserving their independence and dignity.
Our Growth
Since opening our doors in 1963, we have grown from a small, close-knit community to a larger, still very personal, family. As the field of long-term care has developed and evolved, St. Mark’s has continually adapted to meet the needs of our residents and community. Our journey reflects a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors through comprehensive and compassionate care.
Our History
The groundbreaking for St. Mark’s Living took place in July 1962, initiated by a dedicated group of Lutheran pastors and community members. One year later it opened its doors with 71 beds across Wings 1, 2, and 3, originally operating as a “Retirement Home” providing board and care services.
Today, St. Mark’s Living proudly offers a diverse range of living options and care services to meet the varied needs of our residents:
- 48 Independent Apartments for those who wish to live independently but within a supportive community.
- 41 Skilled Nursing Facility Beds providing 24/7 medical care and support.
- 16-Bed Transitional Care Unit designed for short-term recovery and rehabilitation.
- 25 Assisted Living Apartments for those needing some assistance with daily activities.
- 26 Assisted Living Memory Care Apartments dedicated to providing specialized care for residents with memory impairments.
